A magazine that reevaluates the good things of the past and explores art from a logical perspective.
“ARTOLOGY” is a coined term combining “Art” and “Logic.”
I believe that art can be understood more deeply not merely by appreciating its beauty, but by deciphering the reasons, philosophies, and history behind its creation.
No single work of art comes into existence by mere chance.
Embedded within it are cultures nurtured by specific regions and climates, traditional techniques passed down through generations, and the art or philosophies that stirred the creator’s soul.
A work of art is born at the intersection of the past and the present.
I was born in 1990, a time of significant societal transition.
Consequently, I view it as my generation’s role to serve as a bridge, passing on the culture and techniques inherited from the Showa era into the Reiwa era and beyond.
If the connection between generations is severed, those techniques and art forms risk vanishing without ever being passed on to the future.
That is precisely why ARTOLOGY MAGAZINE goes beyond simply showcasing artworks; we share the stories behind their creation—including the creators' personal experiences, artistic statements, and production backgrounds, all set against the backdrop of history and culture.
My goal is for as many people as possible to encounter the “why” that lies beneath the surface of the artwork.
We explore the philosophies behind the art through a logical lens.
